How Does Vision Return After 12 Years of Blindness

I believe in miracles. The following story is a miracle about Doug Harkey’s visit to his chiropractor where he regained his vision in his left eye. Yes, you read me right. This was published in the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, Iowa on January 11, 2008. Doug Harkey was legally blind from retinitis pigmentosis (RP) in his left and right eye. According to Wikipedia, RP is a type of inherited disorder in which abnormalities of the photoreceptors (rods and cones) and/or retina leads to progressive visual loss. It starts as night blindness and progresses to tunnel vision and with some people complete blindness. Mr. Harkey’s left eye had no sight for the last 12 years. After his chiropractic treatment, Harkey now has 20/100 vision in his left eye. Harkey says, “After the adjustment, my left eye watered for 45 minutes straight. While I wiped my right eye, I could see out of my left.” His eye doctor, Dr. Lynn Lester, is not sure what triggered the sudden vision improvement. Doug Harkey believes it was the chiropractic treatment. He was blind in the left eye for 12 years, goes to the chiropractor and has an adjustment, and now has 20/100 vision in the left eye. By the way, his eyedoctor tells him the left eye can reach 20/30 with corrective lenses.
